Prescription for Wealth Why You Should And Can Be Rich Dr Tomas McFie 9780692013144 Books Reviews
I'm a money person. I graduated with an accounting and entrepreneurship degree, worked for four years in the financial field, earned my CPA, am a budgeting nerd, and earn a living helping business owners manage their money. I also, for a brief, dark, period of time, used to sell life insurance.
My husband is getting ready to take over his father's chiropractic practice and, having seen this book advertised as free, ordered it. Being the financially-minded person I am, he started reading me snippets of the book out loud as he went through it. This dude is absolutely off his rocker. I understand compounding as much as the next girl, but where he thinks he can get a 4% return on a CD to justify taking a 6% car loan, I'd love to know. Let alone paying premiums on a whole life policy in order to get a "return" in the form of cash dividends??
He argues that making cash purchases depleted his savings and therefore kept him from being able to do things like make home repairs and... get this... clothe his children. My counter argument is that people should be paying cash. FOR THINGS THEY CAN AFFORD. Debt is not a safety net.
